Vicky Young, Childrens Therapy

Children

  • Are you and your child confused about school?

  • Having trouble with distance learning?

  • Missing friends and activities?

  • Is your child irritable, sad or withdrawn?

  • Does your child need support with loss, grief or trauma?

Children have a hard time putting things into words. Play is their first language. Play therapy with children can help with self-control, expressing oneself, social skills, resolving grief or trauma, problems with learning, and simply trusting someone. Even on line, play therapy is effective.

I have studied, used, and taught play therapy, Sandplay, and family therapy. I studied with Dora Kalff, the founder of Sandplay.

I’ve helped children with learning, bullying, school anxiety, medical problems, trauma, and loss.

I work with children with learning differences and disabilities, including ADHD and the autism spectrum. I have experience working with foster children and adoption.

Based on your child’s and family’s problems and unique strengths, we can make a plan with a combination of child and parent therapy. Together we can support your child’s growth and development and strengthen your family’s connections.

School & Learning

No matter what form school takes, it is important that every young person has positive experiences with learning, teachers, and peers.

If your child is having difficulty with learning, self-control, or making friends, I can help. When parents, educators, and therapists work together, we can create an environment in which a child can grow and succeed.

I have thirty years of experience working with teachers, school psychologists, and educational staff. I have consulted and collaborated in both private and public schools.

Let me help.
